Our Veterinarians
Dr. Mark Beebe
Dr. Beebe, a Michigan native and 1977 graduate of Michigan State University, has practiced in Connecticut his entire career.
After brief stays in Norwalk and Clinton, Dr. Beebe owned and operated two small animal practices in Litchfield and Thomaston, CT. from 1981 to 2002. From 2002 until 2008 he practiced predominantly emergency medicine at several emergency clinics around the State of Connecticut.
Upon purchase of the Goodfriends Veterinary Clinic in 2008, he is back to doing what he loves most; helping families enjoy the longest, healthiest relationships possible with their pets.
Mark's medical interests include all areas of small animal medicine. Internal medicine, endocrinology, dermatology and surgery are of special concern.
"After over 30 years of practice I still get excited about learning and seeing new things. From the technology of an ultrasound machine to incorporating new drug therapies in my practice, I never grow tired of exploring the exciting medical options that the veterinary profession can now offer pet owners."
Mark and his wife, Mary Warner, who is an Assistant Dean in the Yale School of Medicine, reside in New Haven (no... the commute is not that bad) with their two daughters Hannah and Charlotte. They share their home with "The World's Greatest Cat", Mowster and Lily the French Bulldog (that's her on our homepage).
When not attending his daughter's swim meets and school events, Mark loves to travel his family, golf, ski and root for his beloved Michigan State Spartans.
Dr. Stephanie Torlone
Dr. Torlone is a Massachusetts native and 1995 graduate of the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. She practiced in Florida before moving back to New England in 1997 and working in small animal practices in Massachusetts and Connecticut.
In 2001 she received her certification in veterinary acupuncture from the Chi Institute in Gainesville, Florida. She has enjoyed offering this treatment option to patients both small and large ever since. In 2006 she returned to the Chi Institute for training in Tui-na (a hands on therapy combining acupressure and massage).
Dr. T. has a special interest in geriatrics and improving quality of life for older pets. Often this involves using Chinese medicine (acupuncture and herbals) integrated with Western medicine to manage chronic pain and other issues.
Dr. Torlone is currently owned by a small farm in North Stonington, which she shares with three dogs (two rescued Dobermans and a Maremma), two horses, and two guinea pigs. When not working, she enjoys gardening, reading and training her horses.
